56 Hours Before Incursion Camp Pendleton, CA Inside C-130 Hanger
Matt walked up to the bench, Colonel Chris Hatfield, from 101st Airborne beside him, a Staff Sergeant near them looks as if to explode, "Atten-Hut", the Staff Sergeant yells, as everyone, both 1st Force Recon, and 101st Airborne stands up to Attention, "As you were", Matt says into the microphone on the bench, "Now, as you all know, as of three hours ago, a UH-60 Blackhawk went down near Al Fallujah, codename, Jackal, has informed us of its position, and satellite imagery shows heavy Iraqi Militant presence in the area, if Jackal is correct, we should be able to sneak in and out within ten to fifteen minutes, if we take any longer, the choppers will return to base and return in 24 hours, Colonel Hatfield will now brief you on enemy armarment and the tactics we'll try and use, then also what weapons we are expected to use", Keller says as he moves away from the bench to allow Hatfield to use the microphone.

"Atten-Hut" the Staff Sergeant yelled as both Colonels entered the hanger, immediatly Kevin stands up to attention. The colonels walk towards the microphone in the bench "As you were". The colonel briefs them on the upcoming op, it had been long sinc their last op, past days had been leisure at the base, frankly Kev missed the action. All his 1st Force Recon 'buddies' are present except a few who had been reassigned, the 1st Force had been through lots together, they were as close as anyone can be with another one, a bond was made when you placed your life in hands of the man next to you. The colonel gave the word to the other one who was next to him, Kevin looked up, interested.

Steve sat in front of the hangar waiting for the CO's of the 101st and 1st Recon to come in. When a Staff Sergeant yelled out "Atten-Hut", Steve rose and saluted his superior officers. Soon as the commanders saluted back he sat down and waited for the officers to tell them the information on the up coming mission. The CO of the 1st recon got up to speak. Steve listened to him but he didn't really care for the marines as he was an army guy so when Colonel Hatfield got up to the microphone Steve really got a sense of pride Go Army! thought Steve to himself as Chris started talking.

Chris listened as Keller began the briefing and then passed the microphone to Chris. He stood there and said clearly, "We can safely assume that our enemies will be using Semi automatic to full auto machine guns such as AK's, M16's, and the like. We have been approved to use silenced weapons, to make sure that the recovery of the downed chopper crew make it home alive. We will be armed with M4A1's, M16A4's, M60, and SAWs. The silencers are only available with your pistol sidearm, so lets try to use them as much as possible, leaving the louder weapons to be used as a last resort. Once upon the site of the crash, we will search for clues on where the crew was taken, and if they are alive. Then the 101st Airborne well be watching the USMC's backs as we determine our next move. Any questions?"

Kevin stepped forward, "Sir, aren't we supposed to try the Army's new model?" he said frowning, reffering to the 'new model' as the brand new XM8's that R&D had given them today. He stared at the Colonel, and waited for a reply.
Kev was anxious to try this new carbines, it was told that they were the most advanced carbine made up to date, who could ever miss a chance of testing this weapon before it comes out to the market?

Matt stepped infront of the microphone, being the resident M8 expert, "That is correct, and it is recommended that you use it instead of the M4, but the choice is yours entirely, we can't nor will stop you from using your normal weapons, but it is up to you, the M8 was recently tested against the M4 and the FN SCAR-H, and the M8 faired much better, and if this 'field test' goes well, the M8 will be placed alongside the 'being developed' M4A2, hopefully you'll know the right choice", Matt explains a smile after he finishes.

Standing toward the back of the room with his Company CO Steve, Dean watched the briefing unfold. A rescue behind enemy lines would be ideally carried out by USAF special tactics team, but everyone was spread rather thin nowadays, and this would be a 'make do with what you have' type mission. Having 1st Recon as the primaries would also ensure things ran smoothly, and the 101st would do their job, no questions asked.
"Sirs," Dean said from the back of the room, addressing both Hatfield and Keller. "Do we have any idea on enemy troop strengths in the area? And have they made any attempt to overrun or reinforce the crash site?" A Blackhawk wasn't exactly a piece of military hardware you'd just shoot down and leave the scrap; the very technology that make the craft so safe would also be the crews undoing if she was shot down. The locals would stop at nothing to get their hands of tech like that.

Keller listened to the First Sergeant, he looks at Chris, "All I can say is, that we may encounter some d**n heavy resistance, so don't expect this to be a no enemy mission, like the Colonel said, expect them to be using United States weaponry, at the worst they have Stingers, and if we end up finding their location, we will pride ourself in finding the bloody things and makin 'em go 'Boom', and hopefully someone will be smart enough to bring some C4 to blow that Blackhawk sky high, I've been informed that the government won't take kindly to the Iraqi's having our tech, anything else?", Keller asks as he moves to the side to allow Chris to take any final questions.
< Tag Chris >
Chris had answered the final questions, and with that, keller put his MARPAT Garrison cap on and walks down the stairs, "Atten-hut!"[/i], the Staff Sergeant yells as he salutes both Chris and Keller, Keller salutes in return as does Chris, they walk out of the hanger, everyone else runs out behind them and turns the opposite direction, headed to the armory.
"You think this is a bad idea Chris?, I mean, theres only sixty or so o us, and probably a hundred of them, I hope those Iraqi Police guys are keeping it pretty well protected", Matt says as he continues walking.

Following any other questions that were neded, Chris followed Keller out of the room. Hearing Keller speak Chris gave a solemn look at Keller's question and said, "I do not think this is a bad idea. We have got to bring our men home. Even if there were three hundred of them, the 101st Airborne will still go in and extract our men. We dont take things like is lightly." Then smirking a little said, "Besides, sounds like fun."

"For some reason, I believe you, lets just hope that we can get in and out in time", Keller says as he walks up to the door to his office, "Wanna join me for a coffee or you gotta go do a prep talk or something?", Matt says sarcasticly as he opens the door and waits for Chris to reply.

Kevin waits until the Colonels walk out of the room, the Sergeant dismisses them with a loud shout. As the 1st Force Recon and the 101st Airborne leave the hanger.
Steve suddenly finds himself sorrounded by an eager to get in action crowd, he makes his way out and heads on to the Armory, he had nothing better to do at the moment, so why lose time?

He smirked and said, "I think I got time for both." He then followed Keller into his office. Once inside he asked, "So. How long you been at this?" As he spoke he began to think about what he would say to his troops, before they embarked on the mission at hand. It was going to be rough, deep inside enemy territory, and only side arms were silenced. He was sure that his team could handle it, but at what cost? <TAG KELLER>

Matt made Chris a coffee, "Black?", Keller asks as he moves the cup under the machine and pours the coffee in, "Lost count at twenty years", Keller laughs.
< Tag Chris >
Keller hands Chris his coffee and makes himself a black coffee, then puts three sugars in, then takes a seat at his desk, "So, whats your plan?", I'm just gettin Bravo Squad to secure our pilots and crew, the sending Charlie to setup some traps for any enemy vehicles that might want to take us out, Ahh yes, the infamous kill a sheep, and place some C4 under it, the blow it when it gets too close", Matt says laughing at the fact that some Iraqi farmer would be missing a few sheep the next morning.
